Today was an award winning one! I was lucky enough to take part in Celebrating Catalina’s 20th birthday over an intimate lunch. Before indulging in the contemporary grand menu tasting, we had the pleasure of sampling a selection of Ciroc vodka cocktails, which went down like a treat.
In the business for 20 years, the winning combination of consistent food, professional & personable staff along with winning recipes that stand the test of time is what is still drawing all of us back to Catalina’s unique restaurant experience. To top it off, the uninterrupted 180 degree screaming Sydney Harbour view is like the icing on the cake which you won’t ever be tired off.
As soon as each plate hit the table, the saying “You eat with your eyes” couldn’t be more true, each meal was indeed plated to perfection but rest assured our tastebuds were also in for a treat. Fresh & vibrant looking produce made each course that little more inviting to taste. To complete your experience, make sure to have a chat with Andrew (we surely did), Catalina’s Sommelier who will happily recommend some exquisite wine which will make your experience that extra magical.
Here is our lunch selection.
Freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters, sourced from the best growers in NSW & opened to order.
Crispy skin pork belly, honey glazed parsnips, lentils, parsley oil & red wine jus.
Char grilled quail salad, roast hazelnuts, orange, pickled golden beetroot & witlof, caramelised palm sugar balsamic dressing.
“Glacier 51” toothfish, sous vide, tomate consommé, horseradish tortellini & baby basil.
Roast rack of lamb, smoked celeriac purée, ratatouille and roast potatoes.
Selection of 5 smaller desserts (had to be eaten to believe!)
