New products get launched every week, but when you’re invited to one that was 20 years in the making & can be traced back to 1801, you know you’re in for a winner! To top it off, it was a private & intimate tasting with only 15 guests directed by none less than Chivas Master Blender Colin Scott direct from Scotland.

During an informative afternoon filled with questions that fussed from all corners of the room regarding Colin and his work, he informed us all “we don’t argue we discuss – You never argue with Scotch”. A Master Blender is also busy as the world is craving scotch, “for Chivas 12, were blending every week as we need to keep up with 1 bottle per second”. Colin let us in on a well kept secret which was the number of types of whiskey that make up a single blend “about 30 to 40 whiskey are used to make up 1 blend”.
Chivas Extra is deep in aroma, rich in fruitiness and generous in sweetness.We can now grasp even more the complexity of the job for the Master Blender to juggle with over 30 different whiskey each week to come up with the perfect batch…. #NoPressure

Fruity sweet with notes of ripe pears and melon, creamy toffee, milk chocolate, cinnamon and a hint of ginger.

On a very humorous note, Colin assured us that they do spit at work & don’t swallow otherwise the drive home won’t be too safe.
Australia was very lucky to have Chivas Regal as a world first for over a month & now available in the US & Europe as of next week, enjoy Chivas responsibly.
